Kris Allis lives in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and a loveable little schnauzer-terrier whose favorite time of the day is ‘apple time’. The little dog will put his little face on her knee to signal that he wants her to peel an apple and share with him. She has three adult children who have enriched her life and made her a very proud mom. Love and family are very important to Kris. She saw her husband for the first time in third grade and decided that she would marry him. And she did! The summer of 2015 they renewed their vows in Las Vegas.
Writing has always been a dream for Kris. She has always loved to read and felt like she could weave her own stories. Kris is a former middle school teacher. After years of being in the classroom she decided to hang up her instructor hat and devote her time to writing a novel. She is now the author of two suspense thrillers: “A False Start” and “A Moving Screen.” She is hard at work on the third, which she hopes to release in December of 2016.
Kris is also a member of Toastmasters International and has achieved the Competent Communicator Bronze Award. Her favorite speaking projects involve interpretive reading where she can use her reading skills to bring characters to life for her audience and relay the author’s meaning. She is also a member of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She enjoys gardening—flowers, not vegetables. She has tomato plants every summer, but that’s the extent of growing food to eat. Not because she doesn’t value the “farm to table” idea, it’s just that Georgia red clay takes time to cultivate for growing healthy, lush vegetables. After spending time cultivating her flower beds she has no desire for further digging, and soil conditioning. She is one of those fortunate ladies with a garden filled with pink and red Knock Out roses. She enjoys spending time with family; dancing; bowling; travelling; reading; and attending basketball games.
